Getting Fit for Free in YYC

One of my new years resolutions was to save more money by not going to expensive workout classes. At first I thought I was going to struggle a lot with this because I love my weekend spin, boxing and yoga classes to de-stress from the week. I also use my classes as an opportunity to hangout with friends and try new places around the city.

So far, I have only cheated once, and that is because a good friend of mine started working at the Undrcard boxing studio and I said I would go once with her before my “challenge” began haha.

So the quest for utilizing free classes was underway. Now I’m addicted to free classes and bringing all my friends, and now I can get way more friends and family out to a workout with me because they are free! So here is my list of free workouts you can try around Calgary!

Thursday: Barre @12

First Class Free

Stax Cycle Club (Spinning)

Lagree YYC (Pilates Workout)

The Sweat Science (HIIT/ Boxing Workout)

Another beautiful thing about most of these classes is that you can book them on your phone with the MindBody App. This app will have all your local workout studios/ so you can just sign up, create a profile and start booking your free classes. Do keep in mind that these classes fill up fast so you need sign up ASAP. Also some of these classes require equipment such as barre socks, or hand wraps for boxing so if you don’t have them already these classes won’t be completely free the first time you go.

If you know of any over free fitness classes in YYC comment below or tag us on Instagram. I hope this inspired you to get out and try some new places around the city!! Happy sweating.
